Inspired by nature up designs a series of sustainable restaurants, outlets and coffee bars for a leading Dutch infrastructure company. up architecture made a distinctive design in which an extensive re-use of industrial materials were applied. Biophilic designs principles were used in the first restaurant project at our clients HQ in Utrecht. Located within a Dutch national architecture monument up architecture proposed a powerful connection between the restaurant and the surrounding city park. A new plaza connects offices, meeting rooms, informal workplaces, dining areas, outlets and the park. Daylight filtered by abundant plants and green creates a positive and pleasant atmosphere.
